Excellent service and food is always delicious.
waiter seemed to dislike us from the start. Was non committal, wouldn't confirm order, brought wrong tea and wouldn't correct it, never brought food, never brought ticket. I made my tip minimal due to his lack of effort and HE FOLLOWED ME INTO THE PARKING LOT AND BANGED ON MY WINDOW AND SAID HERE'S YOUR CHANGE. RUDE, SCARY, UNPROFESSIONAL

Service was good. Food was good, however chicken was a little dry. Wish I had ordered the ropa vieja (as my daughter did)

Wouldn't apply coupon unless we dined in (even though it doesn't say so on coupon) and were very inattentive when we did dine in.

Zaguan offers great options that are part of Venezuelan and Cuban Cuisine. Their bakeriy is great and their fresh juices are delicious. Staff is very corteous!

Food is generally good, although this time I felt the tilapia had an off taste to it, like it was close to turning bad. Service is consistently poor. Both inattentive and mistake prone.

Cachapas we're not fresh and they had very little cheese. This place just seems to be worse every time I go. Don't think I'll be back for a while. The owner is very nice but the wait staff is very rude.

Food and service are great. I've been there twice and the 2nd time I went they had an band/comedian playing and the audio was way too loud. I didn't realize until we were leaving they had outdoor seating which would've solved that problem. Other than that this place was great.

We tried the cachapa (they do serve it during breakfast hours) with chicken, cheese, mushrooms and avocado.
It's really about the food. Many unique offerings and something for everyone.
The server or the chef messed up my tilapia dinner order. I was brought a salmon dinner instead. They took it away immediately but it took nearly 20 minutes to serve me my tilapia dinner. Meanwhile, my husband had completely eaten his dinner. The food was alright - nothing to rave about. Then to top it off - they charged me for the salmon dinner which is more expensive than the tilapia dinner! By this time, we just wanted to get out of there so we did not have the waiter change the ticket. We will not be going back there.
The service was very slow, in spite of the fact that the place was nearly empty. When a waiter finally came to our table, he barely spoke English -- he didn't even know what we meant when we said we wanted to pay our tab! The food was good but VERY greasy. I poured so much oil from my plate into my napkin that the waiter finally brought me a small dish to hold it. Once we finally got to the point that we were eating, it was a good experience. The restaurant is very cute and conveniently located. The portion size makes it a good value for the money.

1 entree was brought out cold. they put it in the microwave to reheat it. The plantains were old and reheated. Service was slow and it took almost 20 minutes to get my credit card back when taken to pay the check. The just forgot because it was not busy.

We always love going to Zaguan! Our favorites are the Chachapa with beef and cheese, the arepa with veggies and cheese, and of course, their yummy desserts--especially the dulce de leche alfajores!

For breakfast, I adore them; however this time we picked up dinner to go and by the time we got to our house, it was not the best dinner and our order was incorrect.
Our waitress was absolutely adorable and so sweet. My friend is pregnant and so she has some trouble with certain things in food...like cilantro now tastes like soap. She was lovely enough to bring her a new bowl of soup. The food was lovely and the service very nice as we decided to have a long extended meal, chatting to catch up and ordering in shifts. All was great and I will certainly be back and give great reviews.

We love this place. We do not live in Texas but, when we come to six flags this is the place the teens always ask to eat! Service is friendly and accommodating and we have never had a bad anything here.

Unfortunately we visited on an evening when a company meeting of some kind took up half of the small dining area. They were quite loud. But nonetheless, the service was awesome. We ordered Ropa Vieja, a signature dish which I did not find to be spectacular, and a steak, which was cooked to perfection. The huge salad which accompanied the steak was beautiful and tasted even better! We also ordered a loaf of their specialty bread to go that was out of this world! It had ham, olives, cheese, and raisins baked into it. Delicious
Zaguan is an outstanding Latin cafe and dining experience. My only regret is that we don't get there more often!

I had no idea what to expect, and I was exceptionally pleased with the dinner. Everything was great! We decided to try several things, and liked everything. We loved the chapata and dulce de leche cake. Homemade caramel was awesome! The chicken soup - excellent. So glad we came!

Usually they bring bread, we didn't get any. We had to ask for salad dressing even though I had a large salad.

Wow. I had no idea this could be so good. And what kept me from coming here for so long. The location leaves something to be desired, and even the well placed bushes don't prevent you from remembering you are on Oak Lawn. But the food... oh it's so good. Eclectic menu, where I kinda wanted to try everything. So diametrically opposed to the tex-mex approach that dallas typically embraces. My girlfriend had the cachapa with chicken/vegitables, and sweet plantains. I had a dish with shredded beef and you could just taste the high quality. Even the rice was better than anything I had before. A+ for dinner. Dessert we got was 3-4/5, decent fare but didn't have the same flare. Service was amazing. All in all, 5/5; I will be going here a lot.

The restaurant is a bit run down and smells of grease. There was a pool of water under one of the freezers. My empanadas were super greasy and the meat in the Ropa Vieja dish was cold. The upside were the deserts; the Dulce de Leche, Tiramisu and Flan were really good. I would probably come back for those.

Let me start with the good...Great variety of desserts and all well made...also great columbian coffee....Now the bad part...Very greasy food...maybe because some of the food we picked were deep fried stuff...also had issues with billing....my wife has been here before and she warned me about overcharging which she fought tooth and nail..

Food was excellent but service was poor. Hopefully, they were understaffed. We didn't get water (had to go to counter to ask) while others arriving after us had water. Food was delivered before wine, which was $8/small cup, so $16 for what I'm pretty sure was sangre de toro ($8/bottle retail). My plate was taken before I finished my meal. Salmon and steak were both delicious. Next time, we'll order to-go.

The food is phenomenal! It is authentic! Cute little cafe, it is not situated in the Bishop Arts district or uptown, so once you step out of the place there is no vibe. But inside the restaurant, it is cute and cozy.

This was my 2nd time dining there. The 1st time I was really impressed with brunch. This time everything was horrible. I would NEVER go for dinner. Food was over priced for the quality. Average price was approx $15. Pricing wasnt clear. The menu only displayed lunch prices.

I have been to zaguan many times and always very happy, but today it was not a good experience. It took 5 minutes to get my drink order put in, then 15 minutes to GET MY COFFEE, then 35 minutes to get my food! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!!! ANOTHER MAN LEFT BECAUSE HE WAITED AN HOUR AND STILL DIDN'T HAVE HIS FOOD. NOT sure what the problem was but I don't have 1 1/2 to eat lunch and still make it back to work on time. If the next experience is the same I WON'T BE RUTURNING.....the waitress was hustling but still took forever. Not pleased this time around.

I lived in Venezuela for 2 years and came to love the food. I was extremely pleased to learn of Zaguan and its Venezuelan food. The food was just right! We thoroughly enjoyed it and will return. The restaurant ambience was good. The staff was extremely pleasant and friendly, but service was slow. Nevertheless, we were not in a hurry this time.
They are know for very good bakery, but every single time I go there, they already ran out of pastries... No matter what time of the day it is!
