Overall the food and service were terrific! Even with the coronavirus issues going on, the staff were very professional and genuinely interested in seeing that we had a good experience. Our only complaint -- and it's a minor one -- is that the spinach salad had a very sour taste to it, apparently a combination of the dressing and the pressed apples.

The food at Wink is always extraordinary. Sadly, some of it was too spicy for me. Once I said something the next two courses were phenomenal.

We selected the five course meal option. Each selection was paired with wine, and all were absolutely wonderful.
The wait staff especially Emily was wonderful. The scallops were fabulous. Wink is one of my favorite places.

We were in the wine bar and the service was good, but the food left a lot to be desired. Bruschetta bread should have been crispier, the sliders lacked depth in flavor(we had the different ones) could have used different buns, and the creme brulee would have been better with vanilla jello pudding. The wine was great and so were the mussels with some great bold flavors.
First time at Wink. Arrived early and went to the wine bar before our reservation. The atmosphere was a perfect blend of chill and snazzy. Gendaly (don't know how to spell her name!) at the bar was amazing. The food and service at the restaurant was all mind blowing, too, especially the escargot, clams, and duck! Can't wait to come back.

The restaurant was so noisy (allowing for the fact that it’s a small restaurant) that we couldn’t talk to each other or hear the server. Also, our dinner was not nearly as good as it has been on previous occasions.

There is not a bad pairing on the tasting menu. The wine accents the food perfectly. The meat, veggies, and sauces blend like nothing else. You won't find food like this anywhere else.

We arrived late due to traffic, and were on a tight schedule as we had tickets to a show. We got very prompt, friendly service that accommodated our schedule beautifully with no compromise on the quality of our meal.

Had a lovely evening -- excellent food and service and although it's not inexpensive it is pretty fairly priced. Note that it's a small menu. Although we were able to carry on a conversation with our friends, the restaurant is quite noisy so it's not ideal if you're looking for a quiet meal.
There were some pros and cons but I do you and out pretty good . It was really loudly wanted to sit in the bar but she said it was full and I don't think it was. She also sold us on the liver thing that wasn't exactly what we thought it was. However she totally made it up to us In free treats
WE ENJOYED OUR MEAL INCLUDING TWO DESSERTS. THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT AND WOULD ALWAYS CONSIDER WINK IN THE FUTURE.

What I love about Wink is the food the prepare has such a great blend of flavors. It is also so creative, I could NEVER do it at home.
Quite possibly the BEST restaurant I've ever eaten at. The owner asks your name and greets you when you come in AND when you leave. The food is above and beyond: my hubby and I had the foie gras appetizer (sooo good) and for my meal I had this white fish (I think it was sole) while he had the hanger steak. This place fills up quickly so come early! What I loved most was dessert-- a sampler with chocolate and lemon mousse and a creme brulee. So unbelieveably amazing!

The food quality and our wait staff was outstanding. Unfortunately the host was complaining about customers in the dinning room, and kitchen staff walked through with dirty aprons for no apparent reason.
Although we had a reservation, we were not seated until 20 minutes after the scheduled time; we were seated at the adjacent and associated wine bar to wait. The atmosphere was very crowded and loud. The food was decent, but very pricey. I did not feel this was a good value, even with the certificate. However, the service was top-notch.

Ambience, bread, food were outstanding. Great water (I appreciate this). Dessert was perhaps even better than the entrees. All lovely. However, a single scallop, one scallop cut thinly and interleaved with some veggies and sauce does not qualify as an entree. I mean, seriously. I started coming to this restaurant way back when it first opened and the food and menu have only improved, but I'm a little sad to say that maybe the portions are a little too theoretical for me.

The service was excellent, attentive, and very friendly. They went above and beyond to make everyone feel like family. The blending of flavors in the food was amazing, especially the awesome fennel tomato soup. They have wonderful food for me (a vegetarian) and my husband ( total carnivore).

We did the 5course tasting and had so much fun trying different dishes. Staff was great in explaining each dish and wine pairing. Loved the duck and antelope.Experience was on the expensive side but worth the experience.

It's hard to single out a dish, and it would take too long to discuss all of our choices. I will say that my wife raved about the steamed mussels with mushrooms and bacon. She loves steamed mussels, but that variant may have been the best she's ever had.

This is our favortie restaurant for special events. They always remember your name and treat you like royalty. The ttasting menu with wine parings is delightful. It's a small restaurant, like a Pariasian restaurant, but we like the intimacy. You can also eat in the bar..

The service was very simple and cordial. Got special attention as it was my birthday (personalized menu, started ...). The food was very tasty and the portion were perfect for us. I gave 4 * and not five because of the 40 minute wait despite our reservation.

Had an app (Calimari Giovani), salads, Veal Parm and Chicken Alfredo. All were excellent, especially the Calimari Giovani and the homemade bread! Sat at the bar overlooking the open kitchen -- since we were in the restaurant business previously, really enjoyed watching the chefs "moves"!!! Will definetely return, and bring family and friends!

I've had much better dining experiences at Wink. Our server seemed unfocused or unmotivated to be there. Our food took a long time to arrive, and it was just ok. The butternut squash soup was really good, but the salmon appetizer wasn't very appealing and the salad had too much dressing (too acidic and salty).

Wink is such a friendly, neighborhood type place, like you would find in a Chicago neighborhood, for instance, where they treat you like family, even if it's your first time. Tucked away in the back corner of a parking lot makes it feel like you've found a secret treasure that only locals know about. Kinda like a 20's speak-easy feel. Very refreshing.

stuffed shrimp was a little dry--very small portion of coconut shrimp for $12.00--nice side salad, but it should have been included in the price of the dinner--I buy shrimp at the counter on a weekly basis and know how much portions cost
It was a perfect experience. The Salad and Entrees were delicious and the dessert - a trio of their most popular choices, was one of the best I've ever had. Our waitress was perfect.

Lack of non-seafood/traditional options on menu such as Filet. Small portion sizes. Lamb was so fatty, I think I had litterly 4 bites for dinner.

Felt as though the staff did a great job checking in with us; aside from our server, 3 other people checked on us during our dinner.The food however, was extremely overpriced for the plates. Had the beef tartar and scallops (2). The quality was good, but speaking comparatively to other restaurants I enjoy (Uchi, foreign & domestic, vino vino) the size of the dinner portions and lack of accompanying side/garnish was extremely disappointing. Plus, no happy hour wine prices? Will not return.

The host remembered my husbands name and called him Ron when we left. The waiter was very fun and friendly even though we spit a meal and were not a top paying customer on Friday evening.The food was great. The music, if any, was quiet. The room was a little noisy, crowed and small but very nice. We will go again and recommend it highly.
Wink is the "gold standard" dining experience in Austin, Texas. Once again, we enjoyed innovative and delicious food, paired with exquisite wines. The service is impeccable - from the presentation of the amuse bouche to the delivery of the check.

These people have a profound understanding of what it takes to make a special dining experience--from the initial greeting, excellent food & service, to the goodbye. A bit pricey, but a good value, worth every penny.

Staff was just too overbearing. I was uncomfortable with how involved they were--I felt like I couldn't carry on a conversation, or even glance around at the decor without someone rushing over to our table.

I felt like the quality of service decreased once they knew we were using a restaurant.com certificate. That was disappointing. Wink used restaurant.com has a method of advertisement. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

We have been BIG fans of Wink for many years. This last trip was a bit of a let down. The noise was nearly intolerable and the food wasn't quite as good as it used to be. Something is missing.

I enjoy Wink, but on this occasion, the meat was all too rare. We ordered Strip steak MW and it was M-MR. We had two orders of Foie Gras and it was way too rare for 3 of the 4 of us. I couldn't eat it. I have had it before and it was amazing. My friends did not want to send food back, however I should have insisted.

I have a severe egg allergy and the chef in the kitchen stopped everything to make sure that my allergy concerns were met. The food was incredible and because the waiter was a little late in serving us our wine she gave us a free appetizer. Wink is one of Austin's best high-end restaurants!

The food tasted great. Initial take on portions was that they were too small...but everyone in the party left content and full (appetizer, entree, and dessert). We really liked the personalized menu for my wife's birthday.

The manager was so nice, and we appreciated him making us feel welcome as he shook our hands and led us to our reserved spot in the restaurant. It was very loud, but definitely tasty!

We love to sit in the bar and order bar snacks as well as off the main menu there. Honestly, we have had some of the worst, frustrating service *ever* in the restaurant, but the bar staff have always been excellent - they know their stuff, they are not intrusive, but they are attentive, and always seem to be in a good mood. None of those qualities have manifested in the restaurant waitstaff proper... "Don't ever leave the bar" is the way to go.
WINK is our #1 favorite restaurant, though we can't afford it often. For special occasions it is our go-to place. We recommend it to friends and anyone visiting Austin.

I was not happy with having to wait outside in the cold when we had a reservation for 7 pm. We were seated at 7.20 pm. It was too crowded at the Wink bar to stay there until our table was ready. Overall everything was good but not great. Not sure it would be worth a return trip.

A fantastic experience and a great place to celebrate a special event. Vegetarians and carnivores alike are catered to as well. We enjoyed the wonderful 5 course tasting menu paired with wines. The service was exceptional, and they made a vegetarian meal based on my preferences. The menu changes daily, so they print menus daily. You get a printed menu with your names and celebration, signed by the chefs and wait staff to take home.

We've been meaning to try Wink for a long time. This gave us an excuse to have a nice dinner out and finally get our butts out to try Wink! We loved it. No surprise.

Just didn't get the point of 3 scallops for $30 served with Brussels greens. The only thing special about this entree is that it contain almost no food. The salads were a bit over-priced but delicious. After growing up in the Northeastern US, I found the flounder entree standard fare that I could have gotten at any restaurant down the street from where I grew up. The top of the creme brûlée was charred but the lemon dessert was a taste treat. Simply having the waitress warn you in advance that the meals focus on quality not quantity doesn't automatically make them exceptional dishes. Within 20 minutes, wait staff spilled water twice at our table and once at the table next to us.

Wink, simply put, is dining perfection in Austin. Our meal last night was outstanding (as always) - such great attention to detail, both in quality of food and service. The wine list is superb, and our server did a fine job pairing wines with each of our courses. I "wish" we could "WINK" every week!!

Server Paul was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, answered many questions, and enhanced our experience. Best waiter we've had in a long time anywhere. We will definitely request him next time we dine at Wink

It was a great restaurant! One of the best I've been to in Austin, and I've lived here my whole life. The manager up front, was wonderful as he took time (although he didn't have much time to do it) to memorize every diner's name. Impressive! I will be returning on my birthday!
Although I actually like salt, I felt the salt was a little too heavy on the scallops and beef. Otherwise, the cooking of those was excellent and the scallops had perfect texture.

The man who greeted us at the door took the time to learn our names and then said goodbye to each of us by name when we left. That was a nice touch.
Wink is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. The service is incredible, super friendly staff and of course the food is magnificent. Just keep doing what you do.
Wink has awesome wait staff. They remembered our names. It was my daughter's birthday. Our menus acknowledged her birthday and the restaurant employees and owner signed it for her.

The service here was exceptional. When we showed up at the wine bar instead of the actual restaurant, someone walked us over to the restaurant side. Very nice. And we received a handshake upon entering. Not very common to receive such personal service.
