A human being cannot survive without either of these basic primal necessities. Food is energy, vitality and ultimately happiness. Beer is the contemplation of that beautiful dance and is the most widely consumed alcoholic beverage in the world, third overall only to tea and water. The term gastro pub was coined in the UK in 1991 to describe a new tradition of high quality British bar food. Since then the movement has spread like wild fire through the restaurant world capturing culinary imaginations and racking up Michelin stars the entire way. Great food, killer drink and exquisite service has been the beating heart of this culinary leap.
