They charge hot water per head. I've never been charged in any restaurant for hot drinking water.

The service is warm, kind, personal in just the right way. The lamb with rosemary kabab was delicious, and she brought a taste of an Indian wine I wanted, no charge. Lovely evening.

Service was very good, except that she forgot to deduct my $15 discount at the end! I had to ask that they redo the bill. I also had to remind her that she had agreed to bring mint chutney for our table. Otherwise, it was all good.

We ordered the Tandoori Chicken Tikka and it was the most tender, tasty and juiciest Tandoori Chicken I've ever had. Wait staff was fast, efficient and friendly. Absolutely great dining experience!

The worst service ever.........Oh my this was probably the top ten worst experiences I have ever had! No refills, The waiter was playing with coworkers the whole time, No dish removal, wrong order, 20 min wait for check, Items that I ordered at the end were never put in. The Manager comped half the meal but its not about a comp when you waste over an hour and have horrible service.

We were there on New Year's Day evening, so it was quite crowded. It just took a very long time to get our food and we had a small child in our group, so it was difficult to keep him entertained for so long.

As you enter you are always greeted with a 'Namaste' no matter how busy they are! I come for their MOMOS a Nepali sort of steamed dumpling...they are a lot of work to make and just a treat to have fresh...with a perfect dipping sauce...I usually place 2 orders of MOMOS (1 for me and 1 to share) and then let the other person order a special dinner. The specials come with home-made nan...yummy! And soup. And since I do not order a dinner I do not get a soup...but they offer true Himalayan hospitality and bring a bowl for me as well! Although the coupons include an 18% tip I add more because they do go over and above in hospitality. Sadly, without the coupon, the bill with tax and tip usually runs $50 and that is more than I could afford without the coupon!

Overall, very good! I DO think that their soda refill policy (namely, NOT doing it!) detracts from their overall desirability for me becoming a repeat or regular customer. Frankly, at $2 bucks/soda, there are WAY too many similar restaurants out there of the SAME type of cuisine & similar price range that DO also participate in this program AND offer refills on soda for this establishment to be a choice OVER them. They MAY want to reevaulate their policy in light of that fact! (They DID offer a free small dessert at the end of our meal - which was both unexpected and lovely - but I wasn't sure if this was because it was a special day (Valentine's day), due to having an excess of product near the end of the night, or both! Nor can I be sure it's a regular) offer!

My prior experience at The Himalayas was outstanding which is why I decided to take a friend, however, the service was extremely slow, we waited 45 minutes for our food, though other who walked in after us got served within 15 minutes of their arrival. One of our dishes was luke warm. It was a horrible experience. I will not go there again.

The portion of food was very small in comparison to the price. You really shouldn't charge $12 for about 8 ounces of tofu and a handful of spinach, no matter how well the ambiance of a restaurant. We really felt ripped off for what we ordered and how much food we got. Way too expensive.
