We lived in San Diego for a number of years and discovered Mexican food there When we came back to Boston we tried all the Mexican restaurants we could find. This is by far the best...I don't eat TexMex

"Beef" taco was mushy mixture of bean and potato filler. Plus is was soaked from floating in the beans and coleslaw type mixture. Refried beans were burnt tasting. Wife's chicken enchilada was way too dark. May have been beef. Tortilla chips were way too thick for restaurant style.

Why is the rating so high for this place? It's overpriced. The portions are small (thank God sides are included) and I've had microwaveable meals that taste better..honestly why are the reviews so high? Glad I have chipotle nearby.......

I took my wife and 4 year old toddler with us and had a wonderful dinner. My daughter loved the chips and salsa that came before we ordered. They had a great kids menu to order from. Our waitress was attentive and made great recommendations.

Basement restaurant is dark and rather cave like. Also, Tile work attributes to it being VERY noisy. It was not very full,and the wait people could not hear; The next table over were having to shout to hold their conversation. Food was Pricey for what it was.

It was VERY busy tonight because many people were headed out to a nearby concert, but as crazy as the waitstaff was going, running around to keep up, the food was still excellent as always.

Upon arriving, the restaurant was not busy at all, despite the fact that it was a Saturday evening. Hoping for the best, my best friend and I saw the many available seats in the main dining section. However, for reasons we are still unclear about, we were seated in the most remote (and last to be dealt with, it seems) section of the restaurant. We waited easily over 20 minutes before being approached by our server (who was very lovely and kind), yet at no time did she ever react to the fact that we we seated in "no mans land", despite the fact that the place was not even near full. I have to say that the seating part was a major disappointment. We were treated like we shouldn't have been there. Food was great, but the rest was truly a huge embarrassing situation on my part after having told my friend how fun and great this spot is

The main course was wonderful but a little bland. However, the salsa was excellent and quite spicy. The ambiance of the restaurant was good; the waiters were cheerful, helpful and friendly, but the service was slow. But slow service is not necessarily a bad thing; we were not in any hurry and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience there. The Chilean wines we ordered were very good.

The guacamole was superb and generous in volume. The tortilla soup was filled with avocados, which made it especially delicious. The puerco adobado was superb, as always is at this restaurant. My server was excellent, as well.

portions were so large we over-ordered! possibly allow for including an appetizer and soup without filling the person up on it. I was just in Cancun dining last week. Soup was small and light. Your black bean soup was a meal in itself, also guacamole. I am not saying get more expensive, but get more inventive with giving size and combo options. I took my leftovers home, thanks.

The table in the front windows is difficult to get into the far seats, and you spend the time watching other diners rather than with a view outside or of the other person at your table. The food was tasty! Worth going back to often for authentic flavors and meals!

Creative sauces and excellent presentation.Server made some excellent suggestions. My only complaint is the noise level is so loud that I had a headache by the time dinner was finished...otherwise this is one of the best Mexican restaurants anywhere.

Food was excellent. Salsa was very flavorful. I liked how the enchilades verde and the chile rellenos wasn't smothered by cheese. Flavor of the sauces was excellent. Husband had cilantro chicken -- flavor excellent. Waitress was very friendly, attentive.

We lived in San Diego for several years and Sol Aztec is one of the few restaurants thatserve what we think of as "the real deal" Their sangria is also the best we have had in Boston and their marqueritas are perfectly made. On this particular visit our serice was A+.

Food and drinks were good but added up quickly. The tastes were so similar across different foods that they somewhat blended together. The beginning of the meal was boring but at least there were good desserts
