We have been 2 times prior to this and it was fine. Nothing exceptional. The food is good but nothing spectacular, it more for atmosphere. You pay premium Riverwalk prices for mediocre food. Tonight was the worst experience we have had. Our server was awful. We were there for 3.5 hours. It was busy but nothing insane. It took him forever to do anything. We had to ask for things several times and he would disappear for 20-30 minites before we would see him again. By the end of the experience we all just wanted to leave.

They offer plenty of great British pub fare with a matching decor. They have a prime location on the Riverwalk and offer both indoor and outdoor dining. It is definitely worth trying for a fun time in San Antonio.

We had an amazing time. Our waitress Seleste was very attentive and outgoing. We were celebrating my husband's 30th and my son's 10th birthday. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was fun and laid back.

The greeter got us seated FAST & we were tended to FAST as well. Then once our waitress knew it was our 1st time she helped us with the best choice options for us and none the less the recommendations she provided were SO DELICIOUS!!! They even had a closing event that was so much fun!! we will definitely be going back!!!

Friday night we went after 10 p.m. and they weren't serving food any longer that night. Besides that, the music was too loud for us; it was more suitable for the younger crowd. We went back Saturday evening before 8 p.m. and the entertainment they had was fantastic. More suitable for us. The food, well I had the fish and chips and it was absolutely fabulous. My friends had the rib-eye, which I didn't think was all that great. It was not real thick and it was pretty grizzly. But, it was tasty. Overall, we had a great time.

Enjoyed eating outside until the cigar smokers arrived. Server turned on overhead fans that helped moved smoke away from us. Having a non-smoking section on a patio is like having a non-peeing section in a swimming pool.

Mad Dogs is a FUN place!Very British,of course,great food...best Scotch Eggs ever!Servings are "Texas"size!The waiters are wearing kilts and the waitresses have plaid skirts...all very cute!The atmosphere is great and you can sit inside(tv's for sports on the weekends)or sit outside on the patio and enjoy the atmosphere of the river walk.

My husband and I went around 1pm, the restaurant wasn't crowded and yet the service was still slow. The food was horrible, I ordered the big Ben which was suppose to be a juicy rib eye steak sandwich. It was extremely dry. My husband ordered the rib eye steak w/ baked potato. The steak was warm and over cooked while the bake potato was hard as a rock. The mussels we had for appetizers were not fresh, you could tell by the fishy smell and taste and several we couldn't eat because they didn't open when cooked. For the prices they charge you would have thought they would have put more effort into the quality of food they serve!

Watching the Prozac Players entertain the crowd is GREAT time! It's too bad they are only there during the week as it seems to get much more lively in the bar when there are more people. The Scotch Eggs are Fantastic!

Our server was horrible. Got our order wrong. Didn't bring us plates for our appetizer (the other server with more tables did). Also the other server saw that we were waiting for a while and took out dessert order. Took us about 30 minutes to get a few to go boxes along with some extra sauce for our leftovers. Would have been a better experience if our order was correct and we had an experienced waitress. Quality of food we received was good.

Great spot right on the river. Waitress was very good and it was a very busy for a Sunday night at 8. The fish and chips were good and my wife had the cottage pie and said it was good to. Drink prices were good 5 bucks each mixed drinks.

Food and the atmosphere were nice. The only problem is with their smoking section. It is right next to the non smoking. The customer who was 2 feet away had smoked 3 cigarettes in the course of my meal. It was terrible. The hostess asked if we wanted non smoking section.

Great food. I had the famous fish and chips, delicious. It's right on the riverwalk which is pleasant to sit on except on really hot days like today,but you can also sit inside to stay cool. The restaurant has a fun London pub decor.

the food and atmosphere were both great, but our service was unfortunatley not so great. we never were offered refills on our drinks. when we did ask for a refill, the waitress was distracted and forgot completely. we then asked if we could have an iced tea to go (since they were 2.50 each) and the restaurant has a no liquids off site policy. Our food was delicious...just took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered until the time we received it...and again...we only saw our waitress maybe twice. we had to hunt her down to get our check. and getting the restaurant.com coupon authorized took about another 15 minutes. we were full, but ready to leave. will not likely return to this restaurant - or at least this location again

Nachos were terrible! warm to cool in touch. Gaucamole was turning brown, not a fresh greeen. When brought to mgr's attention he just gave us another scoop of gaucamole. Fried Fish was not cripsy. Soup was watery! The waitress and mgr kept entertain a table of "tipsy" and obnoxius guys. mrg would call over all the waitresses and speak in a loud voice "Look at these guys, they are gonna say bad things about you!" Not funny and Not enjoyable. But I gave it a shot and never again!

The boneless pork chops I had were so good! The wait staff was very friendly. The restaurant is always extremely clean. They have a huge menu - you can ALWAYS find something to suit your mood. Overall, just a great place to eat!
