Small restaurant charm; great food and service. Restaurant.com made it easy to invite a different friend on 2 different days of the same weekend, order appetizers, salads, entrées and dessert and BYOB, pick up the tabs for 1/3rd of what it costs elsewhere. Easy to have a conversation (we went right after lunch hour, which looked busy). Authentic and not a chain restaurant!!

We have been here many times, however tonight the Chicken Tetrazzini tasted bad. Most of us didn’t finish it. It tasted burned. I hope it was just a bad night and won’t happen again. I might give them a try again in the future, but tonight grossed me out.

I have been eating the salmon special for 5 or 6 times a year for the last 8 years and have never been disappointed. The service is always good and we prefer to go when school (Texas State) is out because the crowds are smaller.

The Italian Garden is a favorite for several reasons: first of all the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. It was a bit loud tonight as the place was packed with college students. We introduced oursellvesand chatted with the girls at the next table. As it turned out we paid their bill and everyone hugged goodbye. It was a feel good moment as we two Seniors remembered our own broke college days.
Normally 'excellent', but this was a bad day! Maybe the Primary Chef was away. Don't know, but food was not as good!

Service can be hit or miss here. This time our service was good. It's BYOB, so no wine available on-site. The place is next to the university, so expect slightly inexperienced staff and lude conversation at adjacent tables. We heard plenty of R rated conversation at the table next to ours. Bang-for-the-buck: this place is great. Excellent food and reasonable prices, unless you want a different sauce...that's 25% extra.

We had to wait to be seated cuz we had a large group but didn't take very long. The food was excellent for a very reasonable price. The portions are huge. And everybody enjoyed what we ordered. Desserts are great also. And it's BYOB if you'd like to bring your own wine. Our first time there but will definitely be back. My only concern is that it's a small restaurant for such good food and so many customers.

The service was horrible!! Waited 30 mins just to get our drinks and another 10 to order. The table across from us sat after we did and ordered and received their food before we did. Brought to someone’s attention that we were waiting and she apologized and said our waitress was tending to a bigger table and she would be with us when she could. Very disappointed in basically being told my family and I weren’t as important as a bigger table.

Our waitress was very good- sweet and helpful. The food was fantastic. It was a cold day, so comfort food- hot from the kitchen was welcomed. I had the spaghetti with meatballs. It was very good. The others tried the eggplant lasagna and it was a hit.

The seafood was exquisite.our waitress Mallory went above and beyond to accomodate our party and to make sure we were satisfied with our entrees. Mallory was the best waitress we have ever had serve us ever at any resturaunt. The wait wasn't long and we were accommodated with a secluded table as per our request.

The food came out piping hot, which I love. The sauce on their shrimp marinera was amazing! I couldn't get the garlic taste out of my mouth even after 3 brushes. Lol

Great food. Relaxed atmosphere. They dont sell alcohol so its BYOB. You can bring your own bottle of wine and they will provide the wine glasses and corkscrew. That in itself saves a lot on a nice meal.

This was a take-out order. Pizza was excellent. The salads unfortunately had a significant amount of old lettuce (wilted and brown)so one of them simply was not eaten at all and the other had to be "picked "through".

We have always enjoyed this restaurant however last night was the worst service I ever had. It took an hour and 10 minutes for our party to receive food but my dish did not come out for an additional 30 minutes. By then the rest of our party had finished eating so I told the waitress I did not want mine anymore. She brought the bill with a charge for my meal on it too. She would not remove the charge so we asked to see the manager. He (Kenny) would not come out after repeated requests so the hostess (Lindsey) came to our table and she said Kenny was too busy to see us and they could not remove the charge. Finally a server named Jett came to the rescue and removed the charge asking Kelly and Lindsey why it had gotten this far. Thank you very much Jett!
I had the linguine with red clam sauce and the bclams were cook beyond well done. The first meal at this rest. in 5-6 years I didnot enjoyu. Rest of the party enjoyed their meals .

A small group of us came here to celebrate a birthday with wine, appetizers, and dessert. We brought our own wine (love that about this place) and enjoyed some great food and wonderful service. Atmosphere was very comfortable. The crab cakes were a bit disappointing but the margarita pizza and Tiramisu more than made up for it- phenomenal!

Restaurant was extremely cold. Was hard to even enjoy our meal. It also took over 45 minutes to receive our food.
The only complaint i have is it's hot in that back corner where you guys put big tables. And the radio was playing some kind of talk show instead of music, so that was distracting to have the speaker talking right above out heads. Otherwise we love your place.

The server was attentive and did a great job. The fettucine alfredo, chicken piccata, chicken parmesan, and marguerite pizza were fantastic. The spaghetti with meat sauce was a little bland. I would also highly recommend the chocolate mousse cake. The prices were reasonable and the portions good.

Dining at the Italian Garden proved to be an excellent choice! The food and service were both excellent. Our server was outgoing and friendly, attentive to our needs but not in an interfering kind of way. Each meal was of excellent quality and the serving size was such that we each brought portions home. The meals were all a fantastic value and our dining experience was most enjoyable!

The atmosphere is casual Italian and nice. You bring your own wine, which makes the experience nicer and a great value. The food is good, not great or excellent. The sides of meat you add to dishes are not incorporated into the dish, nor are they house made. The meatballs are tasteless Sisco type frozen foods. The menu is extensive, so many things are not house made. I think the price point reflects that, but I must remember to ask more questions when I order, so that I'm not disappointed by the quality of non-house made products (which there are many). Friendly servers and large portions - great appeal to the nearby college crowd.

Food delivery was less than 15 minutes. It was all hot, fresh and as ordered. All dishes were excellent. Ranged from seafood to chicken and beef.

Generous portions of good food at resonible prices. After we were seated, we were brought freshly made bread with an olive oil dip. We were there during a busy time, but we felt we still got good service with staff checking one us and always bringing refills.
We waited a really long time to be seated. We also waited quite awhile to be waited on and to get our food. I think they were understaffed.
Food was good. To make it an excellent experience, add waitstaff. Our waitress was taking care of too many tables. She did a great job but it took longer for her to check on us for drink refills.
The place was crowded and they had reservations for the big tables because it was graduation weekend. We sat at two adjacent tables until a big one was cleared, and then we moved there thus making way for two smaller parties. And since it was my birthday, they were going to give me cheesecake but my son told them I'm lactose intolerant, so instead I got an amazingly wonderful tiramisu. They went out of their way to accommodate us, which I appreciate and rewarded with a large tip.
The only down fall was the table we sat at was in line with the front door....which was constantly being opened...thus allowing hot air in every time. Made for a rather warm evening.

We have 2 Italian Restaurants we like,in different towns...it is well worth the drive to San Marcos to go to Italian Garden.The food is very very good,the servers are excellent and friendly and the price is low considering the quality of the food and service combined.This is one of our FAVORITE restaurants for Italian Food.We sat outside on the patio,there were umbrellas and a great cool breeze.It was quieter than inside so we had good conversation and a perfect evening.

It is one of those places off the beaten path, that I have passed a few times and always wanted to try; and those places usually are some of the best! It was really good food, with a really good atmosphere, and the rolls were really awesome!

I was happy there were some low carb choices to eat after I devoured all those delicious warm rolls! My husband chose a pasta dish and loved it. From what I saw others doing, you can bring your own wine. Even better! Will definitely go back more often.

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant, it is not the large Italian chain but a small intimate personalized to your dinner whether alone or in a party! The food has always been top notch and we have tried several different dishes. When we want a treat, this is where we go! The service is great and we love to talking to the wait staff, they are so diversified! It's not a rowdy, noisy, place, but very pleasant to eye and taste!
Everything we tasted was hot & fresh and very tasty. The chicken Cremora was our favorite. Very reasonable prices. We will be back.

Was very surprised about the Italian Gardens restaurant. The picture did not do it justice that I had seen. The food was very reasonably priced and great portion size. This was a wonderful place for a peaceful and relaxing dinner, also because we went EARLY and before the normal dinner rush, so the dining room was mostly empty.
We love this little place. My son is a student at Texas State.We take him here about once a month when we come to visit. He always chooses this restaurant.
the food was delicious. The hot bread with dipping oil was a favorite. The portions was good size. We had a cannoli afterward and it was to die for. It was filled all the way with delicious filling. The only thing to complain about was the time it took our food to come out. It would have been awful if we waited that long and it was no good. It was just hard with kids and them hungry. But I will definitely be returning.

our server only gave our drinks and food never came back to check on us we had to call another waiter to get a refill and to go boxes. there were the hostess and mgr. in the register area behind glass and our table was in front of the glass we even tried to get their attention then we had to ask for the bill and wait until someone came and rang us up. So no we did not tip because the service and management ere not attentive.

It was a very nice restaurant with very pleasant staff. I liked the fact that they allow you to bring in your own wine and they don't charge a corkage fee.
They had no wine or fresh Parmesan cheese. We have been to the other one in Canyon Lake Texas it was much better there so I was a little disappointed. But the food was good.
We've spent a lot of time in Kansas City, MO and New York so we know great Italian food. This was OK for Texas.
I ordered Scallops Marinara last night but they gave me Shrimp Marinara. It was good though and I wasn't in the mood to send it back.

The entrees we had were delicious and hot just like we like our food. The desserts were just as tasty. Everytime we have dined at Italian Garden we are never dissapointed, I hope this will continue!

The food at the Italian Garden Restaurant beats all of the national Italian food chain restaurants. The Service is great, and the dining environment is wonderfull.
We have been dining here fore years, and the food is always good, but what happened to the pizza? The last 2 times we dined the crust was a doughy, mushy, squishy mess. Did the oven change? It's like the crust is not getting baked hard enough. You used to have the best pizza in town.

Chooosing restaurants along our 'errand' route was decided to provide a 'date' as we are both on disability incomes... so when I got my Goddaughter some door prizes for Senior nite I added in the BONUS for us. THANKS!! Good trade. ;-) Overall a realy nice experience. We prefer the mom-n-pop places over the chains.

The service was good, but the waitress totally miscalculated my bill as $37. When I brought it to the attention of the cashier, it was corrected to $22
Very pretty little place.Very busy for the middle of the week and we found out why.Dishes well prepared,plentiful and tasty. Large menu selection with great value for the price. Server friendly and efficient,kept glasses full and table cleared.We drove over an hour to get there and it was worth it.Perfect dining experience. We will come back and bring friends.

Arti, our waitstaff, was very genial and provided us with excellent service with a pleasant personality. I do not like to dine out in places that the waitstaff is not genial. We have eaten at Itlaian Gardens many times because we enjoy the food and the prices are right. Thanks for making my Mother's Day most enjoyable.

This was the best Italian food we have possibly ever had.They have a great selection & the amount of food you get...we all had to take a to go box home.The prices and the service & atmosphere were all good.I will definitely go there again!

Prices were in line with the quality of the food. It definitely was not the best Italian food we've had. My entree was only lukewarm when it arrived. A bit disappointed as we took another couple out to eat.
Order was mixed up, and meat sauce just wan't up to usual standard; husband ordered angel hair and got linguini. We love it anyway.

The certificate is a good way to advertise your restaurant. We live in New Braunfels so this is the only way, probably, that we would visited your restaurant.
Overall, I go for convenience since I go to Texas State. Quality and taste of food is never consisted but service is always alright since it's so slow.

I have been going to the Italian Gardens since it opened. It is by far my favorite restaurant in San Marcos. I live out of state now so whenever i come down to Texas i come here to eat.
I really enjoyed eating there the only complaint was the parking. we circled the restaraunt about 20 minutes before we could park.

It was disappointing to find out that we couldn't use the certificate on our first visit. They said the system was down. That was the only reason we decided to eat there THAT day. It's of concern to think that we cannot rely on using the certicates we purchase every time we visit a restaurant.

Food was excellent, daughters calzone was burnt but they made again and was great the second time around. Waitress very pleasant , kept forgetting things and did apologize( didn't give bad excuses) and we always ended up getting what we needed. But she was very excellent with her being sweet.

I have noticed the restaurant when driving past when I was downtown, and I would always think to myself 'I need ot check them out'. The certificate was even more insentive to do so. I went with a group from my office and we are really glad that we had lunch here. We will definately do it again.
