The food was good and portioned for a human not an elephant. We were seated right away and the service was very nice.
The entry deck & outside upper deck is i need of repair. We saw an elderly woman trip over a loose board upon entering. We told the mgr. & they were surprised by the issue. It was obvious upon entering the restaurant the deck is in dire need of repair.

Three events were going on while we were there. Staff seemed unprepared. Food took forever (45 min after order) to come out. Food was good, but not their normal quality. Seems like regular customers took back seat.

The wine list and the menu listed on their website is woefully out of date. Our desired wine and food selections found on the website were not available nor listed on the menu or wine lists at the time of our visit

For the first time at Twenty9 Restaurant, my total included a gratuity which was printed on the receipt. I cancelled it by writing a line through the printed gratuity and wrote the amunt I desired. I do not like this trye of business transaction. Please inform Steve the owner.

The server was not attentive. He didn’t check with us about how our food was. Just came at the end with our check. Didn’t refill water or drinks.

Best Scottish Salmon entree in our area. Absolutely delicious . We were served Large portions cooked to perfection and served over house specialty risotto topped with three LARGE tender shrimps and smothered with artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes. The raspberry cheese cake dessert made this Sunday's dinner a truly memorable meal. Looking very forward to our next visit.
Friday night is a big Happy Hour time and game watching so noisy in the bar. The dining area is separate and much quieter. Service was prompt and friendly. Great filet. Salmon dish was OK. Nice wedge salad.

We both enjoyed delicious gourmet main entree dishes of Scottish Salmon accompanied by whole shrimps and artichoke hearts served over a marvelous Risotto. Fresh assortment of wonderful bakery breads added to our delight. Ricotta Cheese Cake with raspberry and jam topping was the best my husband has ever tasted. Highly recommend Sunday evening dining in the elegant indoor terrace room. Wonderful soft folk songs from 1960s provided background music yet allowed for comfortable conversation. [p.s. Other than Sundays from past experiences, noise level can get energetic due to popular happy hour crowds in huge bar areas]

The service both times I have been to his restaurant has been very poor. The deck is impossible in terms of getting any service. The bar inside isn't much better.

Back part of restaurant was freezing and waiter was too busy to be able to give good service. God was just ok and overpriced. Came to celebrate birthday and wish I chose different restaurant. Had the choc flourless cake for dessert and it was inedible. It was so hard it could not even be cut without breaking into small pieces. So disappointing

We arrived just before 1pm. Once we received our food, the server seemed more concerned with setting up tables for dinner than checking on us. Really felt like we weren't a priority even though he wasn't busy (most of the tables were empty).
slow monday night would have thought the waiter would have been more attentive,maybe he was working a couple of different rooms.

We always receive great service from Rick! He is a great bartender -- very attentive and has a great personality! The food, especially the seared Ahi tuna, was delicious, and served in a timely manner. Twenty 9 is our favorite Happy Hour destination and great for lunches and dinners as well.

Our server, Ray, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious. Presentation as well as taste. I'm not a big bread fan but the bread was amazing as was the dipping oil. We had seafood soup that was soooo good. My Atlantic Salmon entree was beautiful as well as very tasty. We were very impressed!

We most often sit at the bar and Kevin and Rick are always great (Hillary too, but we don't see her as often). They are always attentive and food and drinks come out quickly. Food is always delicious. Great place with great staff!

Twenty9 is always very good. I eat there with my colleagues of family several times a year. It's a go-to place for us.

Seemed like the food took really long to arrive, and the place was not crowded at all. Very good food worth the wait but with a child along it was a bit hard to keep him occupied waiting for food.
There wasn't a hassle using the certificate. The waitress was familiar with cutomers using them.I love that there are no limitations (i.e. can't use for alcohol). I do not buy certificates if there are limitations.This restaurant is very close to work so it is convenient for work happy hours.
Everything was great. I am usually just concerned with the food, however, it was impossible not to notice the other wonderful amenities this restaurant has to offer. We got steaks, cooked to perfection over a wood grill. The band was playing. We could've sat inside(you couldn't hear the band), or outside on the patio. We chose to sit in a room above the patio, so we could hear the band, and still have conversation. Our server was very knowledgeable. We will definitely go back. There are not enough good things to say about this place. We love their sister restaurant Stevens on State.
We had the filet mignon, which was perfection on a plate, cooked medium. We also had an o.order of wings with 29 flavoring and an order of steak enrolls. Everything was hot and perfectly done. Our server, Patty, was right on with service and able to answer any questions.

They changed their menu. Very limited now. I had pasilla shrimp which my server said was not spicy. It was. Partner had chicken Stephen which was over salted. We used to get mussels which were delish. No longer on the menu. Server NEVER came to ask if things were ok. I finished my beverage and he never noticed I needed another.we waited 20 minutes for the check and couldn't get our servers attention. Had to ask another server for our check. Such a poor experience.

Our server Party was attentive and very friendly. The chicken and crab entree was hot and tastes. the wings were pretty good. Could of used a little more crisp. Cheese board could use some different cheese options. Pretty basic cheese board and the toast things could of been home made like a garlic crustini.
It seemed they were understaffed. Food was delivered but no one ever came back to ask everything was okay or if we needed more drinks etc.

unfortunately the waitress was very poor. We eat out all the time and it was pretty bad and it took forever to get our food and then the tast of the food was not up to par for the price.
We arrived at 7:15pm and we're seated right away. We requested the outside deck upstairs, very nice but the table was small for four. We ordered by 7:30 and our food arrived an hour and 15 minutes later- too too long. Another table seated 15 minutes after us received their food and left before our food arrived. The waiter was very professional and knowledgeable and the food was very good. The wait for the food was ridiculous. We will probably try here again but not in the near future. There are just so many great restaurants in the WC / Exton / Malvern area.

Restaurant was mostly empty, lots of staff standing around just waiting to go home.The restaurant was sort of in closing mode at 8PM and they are open till 10PM. the Outside Bar area was where everyone was, the Prices on the menu offered a fair deal for the flat breads and Burgers (the Bar food), the Entrees were a HUGE jump in price and the place didn't feel like it should be $100 for 2 people on a monday night. They need to offer some deals and some lower cost entrees for Mon - Wed.

We were seated in the back dining area. It was decorated beautifully, with a wonderful view. Our server was among one of the best we have ever had (we dine out at least once a week). The valentine day special menu was wonderful and the food was spectacular.
I like it quiet and private when I go out. On a Sunday afternoon when it is snowing outside, that is what you get. I think we were the only party in the dining room so we got perfect service without intrusion. Spicy shrimp appetizer and Filet mignon are the highlights of what we have sampled so far.

The service was horrible. It took over an hour to get our food and it took forever to get drinks. We asked for coffee after dinner and that never came. We stopped at Wawa on way home for coffee. The band was supposed to start at 6 and didn't start til 7:25.
We were served by the manager as we were the only people dining at the time. Food was excellent and the manager couldn't have been more helpful or outgoing. Plan on returning again.
My compliments tot he chef for making, what I asked the lovely barista, a garlic infused vegetable 'side' to replace the potatoes with the sea bass dinner tonight. Thank you.

We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but the past two times have been inferior. They have been out of their menu pasta dish the last two times. Two of the entrees we ordered last night would have been great, but were extremely salty (and we generally like salt).Don't go on a Friday night if you want to talk. A mediocre cover band made that difficult. Frigid temperature in the dining room had a lot of customers shivering and exchanging comments. All of these problems are easily solved but need to be addressed.
Hard to go wrong - Scallops, mussels, prime rib egg rolls and especially the lobster mac & cheese are standout dishes.
Service was terrible. Waiting for the waitress to make it through the specials was painful.
The food and service was excellent! In addition, the view was beautiful. This restaurant offers a bar/social setting and a private room with a quiet atmosphere and outside dining too. I plan to return for anniversary 8/12/13. My out of town guest from Minnesota were quite impressed! A hidden treasure right in my backyard!

The food is always consistently good at Twenty9, but this past time, the service was very poor. Their was a band outside, but there were only 2 waitpersons working for a huge crowd. It took so long just to order a drink, then to get the drinks, then to order food. It was very annoying. Their should have been more staff assigned for an event they had when the Soul Cruisers were performing.
Server was just OK, he did not tell us about the evening's specials, which was a disappointment in case we wanted to change our minds about what we were getting for an entree.
This experience was so much better than our last visit because we had a different server. We had a young lady named Kristen. She was fabulous. The last time we had Mike and he was a very poor waiter with no personality and very inattentive.
We eat there all the time and love it. Don't have anything negative to say about the food or service. However, the back left leg of my chair broke while sitting outside and on the deck and ended up falling on my back. I was wedged into the chair with my feet in the air like I was sitting in a gynecologist chair until someone sitting close by helped me out of the chair. The whole thing was really embarrassing. When the manager came over to check to see if I was ok, I think he could have offered something more then just buying us a drink such as how about offering to buy us dinner especially because we're in the so often. I'm actually sore today from hitting my head. I would have thought the manager would have wanted to take my name and contact info to follow up with me.
Twenty9 offers a very inviting atmosphere, the food is always good, and they bring in some of the best bands around for entertainment.
The food was very good, but the service was weak at best. Mike was inattentive made not eye contact and was slow to do things like bring the bill. He also never refilled my water after I requested a refill. We love the restaurant and brought a relative, but his service detracted greatly from the experience.

all 3 meals were absolutely amazing!!!we came on sat night and sat at the bar, the service was poor from the bartenders. there were moments of a sign of good service but very few. i have come on fri night to the bar and the service was excellent. different bartenders on sat. the woman bartender does not deserve a job, the man had moments of good.

PLEASE change the music in the bar/main dining area! Every time we have been there (weekly) it is the same horrible 70's music. It doesn't go with the trendy atmosphere or food, and is the only negative to our experience every time. With modern technology (Pandora, etc.) it should be an easy fix and I truly believe would attract more people there.

The Waiter was very attentive, the food was extremely well prepared but the prices were high. I would recommend the food but be warned they are expensive. Tonight was a special occasion so I can deal with the price but I don't think I can visit this place on a regular basis. All being said it was a good experience.

Really didn't seem like they cared if we were there. Added tip without telling us - that's ok - I understand when using certificate they want to make sure they get full tip but they should have told us.
Wait staff was poor, food was overpriced for quality, lobster bisque $10 was less than average, and steak wasn't properly prepared, asked for medium, came out rare. Oysters were very good & presentation of oysters was nice. Waitress totally butched the check, mis-charging my credit card. Restaurant needs to upgrade wait staff.

Waitress was amazing! They didn't have our reservation but sat us within minutes. They changed the menu...boo. The menu before was amazing...mac n' cheese side dish, filet oscar (my husband dreamt about this dish). Please put back some of the old dishes they are sorely missed.

While we love Twenty 9 we are disappointed that the menu choices have changed. Bring back the portobella entree. Menu needs to be more vegan friendly, but the waiter was very accommodating in modifying the choices to suit. To pricey for families with kids.

My friend and decided to chooose a variety of smaller plates and throughly enjoyed them.One of the cheeses on a cheese platter was not edible and we informed our server who handled our problem wonderfully.

Entrees are a bit over priced. One entree was over-salted. Steak was good, but not trimmed and gristle and fat remained. Bread should be served with dinner. Service was good.
My salmon was very fishy and tasted off. The fingerlings were delicious. Our waiter was not very attentive despite being only one of two parties in the room

The food was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice in the back. They have a very large bar area, so if I had been seated there I don't believe I would have liked my dining experience as much.
Ordered the short rib bolognese no flavor....:-( Replaced it with chicken parm, which was burnt....:-( But, those who ordered chicken a la stephen said it was excellent!!!! One of those 50/50 experiences this time. But all prior visits were excellent food and service...:-)

We dined on Sunday, March 11th. Dan was our server. We have eaten at Twenty9 many, many times before and Dan was by far the best waiter we have had. We were a large group and the service was incredibly timely and efficient. Kudos!

Waitress was awesome she didn't hover over us but was also there when needed. Food was great except the starter which was calamari, half of it wasn't cooked all the way. The waitress realized that it wasn't up to par and had it taken off our bill without us saying even a word. The entrees were delicious, I got the steak frites and my boyfriend got the chicken Parmesan. All the ingredients were fresh, including the cheese on his chicken and even my steak fries seemed to be made from scratch. Will return and recommend to friends and family!

The food wasn't served as hot as I would like it and it wasn't due to a lot of people being at the resturant because there was only a handfull of people while we were there. Music was very loud and I felt I had to yell to communicate to my spouse.

A fantastic experience all the way around. The quality of the steak I had rivals a gourmet steakhouse at a fraction of the price. I will tell others and definitely eat there again.

The food was good. However, my steak was overdone. I asked for medium and it was medium well. We sat on the enclosed porch and the ambience there was just fair.

Did not like our seating. We arrived early and there were almost all tables availabe. We were seated at a table in the middle of the room. The next couple who came in were seated right next to us. Don't like the seating. Restaurant too noisy for the prices.

Steve and Anthony always greet me and my husband when we arrive. Hilary is top notch & never fails to take care of us when we sit at the bar. Pat, Kevin, Meggan and Julie are also super and attentive. Twenty9's food is just out of this world. Alway delicious, beautifully presented,and generous portions. This is one of our favorite places to go.
This was a fabulous dining experience. The meal I had was perfect from beginning to end. The Stuffed Eggplant was so delicious that it just melted in my mouth. The presentation was beautiful. The portions were very large. My friends and I had a lovely time. Kudos to the owner and the wait staff and especially the chef!
Little to noise
The atmosphere is beautiful and very appealing. The service was excellent and the food was spectacular. All around it was a great experience. Next time, want to try the outside deck.

Our food was delicious (we both had seafood)...of high quality in taste & presentation. Our only additional comment would be that the restaurant was unusually warm in climate...although, I'm thinking our extreme summer temperatures had something to do with that.
I had been to the restaurant once before, and loved it so much I brought my parents there for their anniversary. All in our party loved the food and the service was great!

The restaurant was VERY hot and almost unbearable as far as temperature. We made the hostess and our server aware but it did not seem to change the situation. The food and the ambiance was very good, but the temperature issue made our experience very unpleasant. I would absolutely not return again in the summer months due to this issue.
Waiter was to pushy trying upsell the menu... No clue who ordered what, lack of attention to details to us as customers. Expected better service!
