Terrific experience! Food was delicious and generous portions, too. Atmosphere was great for couples, families, special events, and single diners. Chef Ron personally greeted our table and other guests. Definitely plan to visit next time I'm in New Orleans!
Excellent food great service
Good food and service
The food was great!
Been a customer since before 2014. I see a huge difference in the way the food is prepared. The grilled/broiled fish was always on a dry plate, fresh with several sides. My fish the other night was soaked in oil, frozen/not fresh, unappetizing and tasteless. When I ordered the chicken Marsela, it was a tasteless piece of fried chicken floating in oil- nothing at all that would please the senses. The original gumbo was really extravagant and delicious. It has now been reduced by half the ingredients, three times the thickening agents and twice the amount of rice as before. Aside from all of that, the last time we went the food was barely warm. A big disappointment.
Very friendly service. Great food, comfortable atmosphere.
We had gumbo with catfish on it and a side of potato salad and drum in lemon butter sauce with a side of red beans and rice. All good.
We truly love our New Orleans food. Chef Ron's is SO different, as a neighborhood type place because the food is truly at a gourmet level. He only uses the highest level of ingredients so the flavors are so much better. The guy just knows how to cook. The portions are more than generous. We just love Chef Ron's and take people there regularly and they cannot believe this little place in this out of the way location performs at such an high level. !!
Restaurant was busy but our waiter was very attentive.
Crystal was an amazing server, patient and personable.
Love neighborhood restaurants. I had not been to Chef Ron's in quite while but I am very happy I returned for a Christmas meal with a friend from Dallas who is a regular diner.
The seafood gumbo was packed full with fresh ingredients. The chicken and mango salad was equally fresh and delicious
Great service, best gumbo in Town, reasonable prices, large portions
A warm and welcoming place. I plan to return rather often with my family. Great food and fun, family atmosphere.

The restaurant was too cold. Everyone was going to their car to get a jacket.

Boudin balls too thick batter, gumbo good but prefer more traditional dark roux, creole has good shrimp and quantity but over handed in some type of spice, service below average
Chef Ron is a wonderful person and cook. He is a personal friend of our family. We try to get together w/ him as often as we can. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Very friendly service! The Chef brought fruit for our kids before their meal.
The Chicken Jefferson is INCREDIBLE. We tell everyone we can that this place is a hidden gem in Metairie. Chef Ron regularly will come through the dining room and interact with the customers. He passion for cooking shows in every dish on the menu. We can't say enough how much we love this place! A&B
It was a little hot, and had an old smell to the building.
Gumbo was super good, great flavor, lots of shrimp, chicken and sausage. Looking forward to boing back for more. I ordered the gumbo and a fried shrimp sandwich, both was excellent.

We dine at Chef Ron’s at least once a week. The food is always fresh and so delicious. The staff is friendly and the food is amazing.
The food was amazing. Only issue with the place is that it is super tiny! Only a few tables so very crowded. We ended up sharing a table with a couple at the other end.
We ordered the gumbo. The food was not as good as usual because of the rice being mushy, not firm. Still tasted good overall, just that it was not as good as previous experiences.
Service was great, staff was very nice and food was pretty good.

All the food I had was excellently prepared, but the gumbo was my favorite. It was delicious and they did not skimp on seafood at all! We got such a hearty portion for a low cost! I was impressed!!
We only had 2 people so we were put at a table for 2 in between 2 other tables for 2. Without stretching my arm I could reach out and touch the people on either side of me. We couldn’t even whisper without the other people hearing me.

The food was delicious! Staff was very friendly and interested in making sure we were seated as quickly as possible. Our waitress, Melissa, was THE BEST! She was VERY attentive and pleasant throughout our whole meal!
The service and quality of food was Superb! Can't wait to go again.
The service and quality of food was Superb! Can't wait to go again.
We love the hot sausage grilled cheese as nd gumbo combo. The best in town.
Grease smell was so overwhelming in the restaurant that it spoiled the meal. Food was good, but they must not have a good vent system.
Service is fast and friendly. Gumbo was outstanding and the Crawfish Etouffee was also excellent. Chef Ron personally came out to check on us and he's a very nice and friendly guy.
Always great. Consistency rules. Super friendly people.
We loved the food but felt like we were being rushed out.
The Fun was Wonderful ??Chef Ron came to the table and very pleasant to speak too,Our waitress was wonderful. All in all the Food was Excellent ??
The food is always prepared fresh and delicious. We dine there about once a week. We have tried everything on the menu and everything is superb!
Great service, great music playing, & the bread pudding was to die for!
Hubby and I went for lunch recently. It was okay. The restaurant is really small (fits maybe 30 ppl?) and there were only 3 servers. The food didn't take exceptionally long to arrive, but I guess I just assumed it would've been quicker since there were so few people. But it makes sense since there aren't that many employees either. So no complaints there. They were out of potato salad, which I really wanted to try. The fried chicken was very unimpressive. Not seasoned well. The gumbo, though, was amazing according to my husband. He said it's the best he's had (second to Grandpa).
Been over a dozen times, food is usually a 4 or 5. Once and only once gumbo was just warm, other times hot and always good.
Great service, great food! Seafood gumbo and fried shrimp po-boy were delicious.
Food was not as hot as it should be. One was cold and the others lukewarm
Always a favorite stop. The Gumbo is exceptional and the service cannot be beat.
Always a favorite stop. The Gumbo is exceptional and the service cannot be beat.
very good and friendly service with excellent gumbo and gator bites
The restaurant is small but they were able to get people in and out.
the food is always excellent. I love their fried chicken - they do not fix the chicken until it is ordered, there is a little wait but it is well worth it
Food was excellent, gumbo was best ever I tasted. Prices are same as anywhere.
The food and the service could not be better. Wonderful experience. Love this place!
Anxious to have the new space available for dining. There is always a wait of at least 10-15 minutes if arriving at high noon Mon-Fri. The food is top notch —- best gumbo in the South!!
Our waitress, Alicia, was excellent. Her food recommendations were great! Chef Ron stopped by the table to speak and thank us for coming in.
As usual the gumbo was great and the service as friendly as could be. Between calling us "her loves" and sitting down with us for a chat our server was quick and efficient and helpful with choices. No better plane in Nola for this kind of food and service.
They had two waitresses. One was pleasant (we didn’t get her) one wasn’t so much. Food was good. A little different flavor than we were used too but the shrimp poboy was off the chain good!!! The wait is crazy as far as limited seating!!! I definitely would think they would rent a larger spaces unit as busy as it seems to be.
We wanted to experience New Orleans cuisine and was happy with our selections.
Everyone is extremely accommodating and friendly, the food is outstanding and the portions are large and presented very beautifully
My guest and I wanted a light dinner. We had a short wait for a table, It's a small dining room and always a line, I expect to wait. We had efficient and friendly service, and we enjoyed crab cakes and a po boy (New Orleans version of the Hoagie) sandwich with fries. Delicious.
The service was wonderful and the food was amazing! The gumbo was excellent!
The service was wonderful and the food was amazing! The gumbo was excellent!
The crab cakes are wonderful!! They say it's kid friendly, however, not if you need a booster or highchair. Bring your own. It's more like a neighborhood dining experience to me. "Regulars" will know what to expect.
Service and food as well were both awesome. The waitress was very gracious.
Small place, about 30 seats! Still only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Seafood Gumbo worth the wait!
Gumbo was very good. Shrimp Poboy was good. Bread was soft. With such good other bread options why use such a soft bread? Give Gedusa’s a try for a plus, plus, plus, upgrade.

We go here often. Service and food are always great!
Great New Orleans atmosphere, chef in the house. Outstaning gumbo-just like ya mamma made!
They did not have tartar sauce to go with the sea food I ordered.
The chef came out and chatted.Very friendly.Very small.Food was goog.Large portions on most items,especially gumbo.ShrimpScampi a little skimpy,but good.Chicken Jefferson really good.Overall good experience.
The Chef comes out of the kitchen and speaks to all the customers.
Wonderful food and and amazing service ????????
Wish the place afforded a little more room for the diners
Waitress drama, not ours but other.
Food was awesome.Service was abit off.
Great food
We just love going to Chef Rons Gumbo Shop, have not been disappointed anytime we have gone and if at the end of your meal and you do not order the bread pudding. Shame on you for you do not know what you are missing.
The food is always great! The servers and staff and friendly and efficient!
Good food and great service.
Add more dining space and correspondingly increase kitchen capacity.. I know you already have plans to add more tables, but don’t forget that the kitchen meds to expand also. Good luck. I will be back!
We could go every week to eat the Gumbo. Very, very good and very filling.
Food was excellent, amount of food was well worth the amount paid. Very enjoyable.
We got there early so we were seated right away. The food is always wonderful.
good food , great restaurant and service
I loved the gumbo, the only thing was missing was French bread.
Terrific tasty food
Try the Bronzed Drum. It is delicious
Very small restaurant had to wait 20 minutes for a seat. Brought out appetizer and gumbo at the same time when I asked them not to. As we all were eating our gumbo they brought out the main course. I was very upset!!! They are too much in a rush to serve you and get you to leave.
Great food!
The best gumbo! Little hard to find hole in the wall secret treasure! Eat here every time we're in Nola. Never had better gumbo ever! Friendly service and chef Ron is personable. What a treasure
Food always comes out hot and fresh. The Gumbo is the best!
It's always a pleasant experience to dine at Chef Ron's. He makes the best Gumbo in New Orleans and our foremost food critic who has a radio show here says so as well. The staff is friendly and pleasant, the food is delicious and plenty of it. I have never dined here that Chef Ron did not appear in the dining room to say hello to the diners. Always a line to get in even though there is sufficient seating.
It was very crowded (a good sign), but it was definitely worth the wait. We split the boudin balls and each had a 16oz. bowl of mumbo gumbo. It was all delicious. The service was great also. We will be back.
Great customer service.
Food was excellent. Waiters were very accommodating. Chef Ron came out of the kitchen and personally spoke to all of the customers.
It was excellent. The owner came to the table to introduce himself. The waitstaff was professional, efficient and kind!
Always a great meal.
It was fantastic . Was very crowd it, but they were great seating us. Highly recommend this place. Wonderful food at an excellent price.
Food cooked to perfection
great food
Always a great experience! Very consistent!
Never had a bad meal there, been at least 8 times.True gumbo ,will always recommend this place. Chef attentive to the meals and patrons as well. Great staff.
Great selection of good ol' New Orleans food.
The service was excellent Prices were reasonable and serving sizes were adequate The restaurant has great deals for kids' meals which were also reasonably priced. Finding the facility was a little challenging and adequate parking was available.
It is definitely a five star restaurant
For 5 years now I have joyfully dined here, wishing that Ron would expand to larger quarters; his food is excellent and draws crowds which could be MUCH larger!!Sarah is an excellent waiteress!!
The food is really good and the server was very nice and friendly.
Our waitress seemed "short" with us a few times. I know it was busy, but...The rice in the jambalaya was hard. I suppose I could have said something, but we were with our son with Autism and doubted he could handle more wit time. We had already waited a while for our order to be taken....in addition to the time it takes to fry chicken 3 pc dinner(it was freshly cooked and good)Also, the chicken tenders had a tempura batter...and was not tasty at all.
The place is small and not much parking.
Fantastic food and good service.
If you are looking for a good bowl of gumbo, you can not go wrong at Chef Ron's Gumbo Stop. You only have to go once and that is all it will take to have you going back and back again for a good bowl of gumbo. Yummy Yummy Yummy
Great service, excellent portion size and good service. A pleasant experience.
Very personable and great food
The staff was great and so was the service!!!
We each had different gumbo and 1/2 poyboy. The barbecue shrimp poyboy was excellent, the roast beef one was just ok. All of the gumbo was delicious.
Food looked good and tasted delicious!
The presentation was attractive and the gumbo outstanding. The chef came by and inquired about our meal. The staff was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our lunch.
Food was great. We will be back!
Everyone was extremely kind, from the wait staff, to the bartenders, and even the other diners!
ENJOYED THE FRESH DELISIOUS GOOD FOOD!!!!
Best gumbo in New orleans!
The gumbo was more like a soup; definitely too spicy (yes, I am from New Orleans). The hostess and my waitress were pushing the border of being rude. I have been there a few times, but won't return
Door open and closing with cow bell a little aggravating.
Loved that the restaurant offers lots of variety of gumbo. Also the owner came out to talk and made it an awesome experience.
Gumbo was very good
Comfy, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. I prefer my po-boy bread a little crustier.
The food is always great.
The food and the service were excellent.
just great food
Sarah was great
Friendly atmosphere with welcoming and attentive staff. The meal from start to finish was delicious!
Place is overrated. I'm from New Orleans, as were most people in my dining party. We basically all left disappointed. The gumbo was pale and lacking in taste, and made worse by the fact that you get too much rice and not enough gumbo! The po-boys were rather tasteless. I got a roast beef one, and the there wasn't alot of meat on it, there wasn't enough gravy, there seemed to be no mayo (even though I got it fully "dressed"), AND they used the wrong French bread! The bread was too dense and made the sandwich substandard. My husband got the fried oyster po-boy and said the breading was tasteless. I'm amazed by the great reviews of this place, especially since I can only imagine the reviewers were locals since this restaurant isn't exactly in a touristy part of town.
We celebrated several family birthdays and the staff and food were outstanding. Will definitely go back.
Food was very good but small Restaurant very Cramped and not enough seats to Dine in comfort. I would only go there with one or 2 other people. Sometimes there is a wait for seats. I was lucky went early.
very good seafood gumbo
The food was great as usual.
Excellent food, excellent service
Best gumbo and fried shrimp po-boys anywhere.
Quality food, excellent service, good prices.
Great Gluten Free options for those with allergies
Food, service, and atmosphere was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Everything we ordered was very good
cold and tasteless potatoe salad--the rice was bland--gumbo had a flour taste and poassibly a vinegar or tangy taste
Food quality was very good. I was a little disappointed that the poboy bread was not the traditional crispy crust bread that New Orleanians are used to getting.
Great grilled shrimp and Mango salad!
Some of us loved it and some of us didn't
Great veggie po boy and seafood gumbo was very good. Waiter very nice and efficient. Small parking lot so use street parking. Tuesday night at 6:30 had a wait list. Only complaint NO HAPPY HOUR PRICES ON DRINKS.
Gumbo was outstanding
Their gumbo was fantastic and the jefferson sauce is ridiculously good.
Chef Ron came out and greeted us. The food was phenomenal. The gluten free Gumbo and jambalaya were excellent!
Very charming little place for Metairie! Great food! Will be back!
small tables
Very small restaurantDefinitely need more spaceNo one mentioned how long wait was until asked
Chef Ron came out to check on the guests. That small gesture always means the world to my husband and i.
Great service from Jacob and we had the best gumbo ever. I personally had the shrimp creole which was excellent.
the food is always so good--we love the gumbos!
We love going here! Freshly prepared food and they even offer gluten free.
Great food and always friendly service
Great Grub!
Great little place for delicious gumbo. No frills but quick, friendly service. We definitely will be back.
Great but they need to have a larger location to accommodate the amount of people that love the food.
The service and food was excellent and Chef Ron came to our table at least three times to personally ask about the service and the food. We were thought the food and service was excellent and will definitely return.
Chef Ron is always there and personable. One lady that works there is a good waitress. The younger of the ladies that works there is not so friendly. It doesn't change that it's great food.
We were in the New Orleans area for a week and this was by far the best restaurant! Great fare and wonderful staff.
This was our friends first time to dine at Chef Ron's and they loved it as much as we do!It is so nice for me to have GF gumbo and it is chock full of seafood!
Best Gumbo in New Orleans
Great Food and Service!Tables VERY close together.VERY casual atmosphere.
Gumbo is the best in town; please consider relocating to a larger venue-- I am sure you have the following. Our group always enjoys the visit and food-- lovely, cordial waitresses and Chef meets and greets us each time!
The gumbo was excellent. My husband had the etouffee and doesn't care for fresh tomatoes but Chef Ron came by the table and told us next time ordering without the tomato was no issue. Great customer service!
Jambalaya was awful. French bread leaves a lot to be desired. Fried shrimp were pretty good. Disappointing overall.
The food here is phenomenal! The server was a little bit inattentive at times, but not bad (plus it started to get busy while we were there in her defense.)
Very, Very good. Great Shrimp Po-Boys, Great Gumbo. Good prices. Not fancy, but great food.
A new room for dinning has been opened up and the room smells cigarette smoke. Apparently the a/c system must be connected to the bar next door for this room. The original part of the restaurant does not have this cigarette order. In the future we will ask not to be seated in this new section. If cigarette order is offensive to you, you do not want to sit in this new section.
Chef Ron does a great job in the kitchen with all his menu items. I had drum fish with oysters and it was great. The crab butter was tasty
always a good meal and great staff
The food was out of this world good. The staff very friendly and Chef Ron comes out and greets you and make sure the meal is what you hoped for.
Great food; taste and presentation were outstanding!
Great food. Our waitress was really good! Nice and quick
Secret in metairie. Perfectly fried shrimp. Yummy gumbo and tater salad. Will try something else besides boudin balls for app next time.
Best gumbo I have had in a while.
Food is always excellent.
best gumbo I have ever ate and the chef came out a few times to check on the food and our dining experience
Place is small and tables close but otherwise fine.
Place is small and tables close but otherwise fine.
The food was great! service was good, Chef Ron came out and spoke to everyone.. and even told us where we should try for be Beignets and coffee a local place. :)
Food was great, only thing we didn't care for is they only have 1 high chair ad 1 booster seat, not enough when many families are eating. We couldn't enjoy our meal the way we normally do because we had to hold the baby. Otherwise, service and food were food.
Food was cooked to perfection. Have not had a meal at Chef Ron's that I did not enjoy.
even though we hadn't heard of this restaurant before, we really enjoyed our lunch there, and are glad we tried it! The service was quick and very friendly, and the food was made with very fresh, quality ingredients. We will definitely go back. NOT a fancy restaurant, but a really nice restaurant nonetheless.
Good food. Good Service.
excellent and helpful waiter and very good food
This wonderful GUMBO shop has real New Orleans food and a great following clientele.
service was okay - not very friendly at first, but then they got a little warmer
Chicken Jefferson and Grilled Vegetables were awesome. Friendly staff. Knowledgeable waiter.
Server not friendly. One server serving all tables and bar area. Kitchen looks dirty. Kitchen staff looked dirty.
the food was delicious. we had gumbo for the first time--beyond wonderful! have a piece of pecan pie--perfectly made--not to sweet. the plate presentation was pretty.
They expanded too!
Its overall a good experience, but it would be nicer if they took reservations so we didn't feel like we have to scramble or wait while tables were being put together. Additionally a suggestion would be to keep the restaurant open longer as most people I'll still keep coming in and would love to eat there.

Best Gumbo Of All Time!!!
Greasy food and service.
The food was as good Katy night as it was my first time there last year when I came to Nola for Mardi Gras! Thx. Noticed the restaurant improvements...kewl!
Great service n nice people great food
very friendly great service
the food was very tasty, the service was good and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Friendly staff, very quick, they never stopped moving or serving tables the whole time. Very friendly chef, came out to see how the food was.
I love that Chef Ron goes out of his way to prepare GF entrees. My husband loves the gumbo with fried catfish.
Good food staff service was excellent.
The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The restaurant was fixed up but a better location would make it easier to find and a newer, cleaner location is recommended.
The food and service is always great!!
Friendly atmosphere and our waiter was excellent. Chef Ron came out to greet us and ask how our food was. We'll definitely go back.
The waiter was efficient, order was correct, the chef came out to check on everybody and what we ordered was very good. Excellent gumbo!
Service was excellent. All the food we had was great. My son and I had the gumbo. Let me say it was best we have ever had.
THE SERVICE WITH JAKE WAS EXCELLENT EVENTHOUGH THE RESTAURANT WAAS REALLY HECTIC.THE GUMBO IS SOME OF THE BEST THAT I EVERTASTED IN A RESTAURANT.
Food was very good and reasonably priced.
This place should be on Diners, Drive In and Dive's. One of the best places I have ever eaten. GREAT!
Other then the Oyster sandwich being overpriced for the size of it, everything else was great. The crab cakes were especially great.
We live in Kenner and decided to give this restaurant a try. It is definitely a winner! We both enjoyed the gumbo; I go the traditional and it was the best I've had. My husband got the gumbo mumbo it had catfish fillet and fried oysters in the gumbo and he enjoyed it very much. We had the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer it was soooo good. We definitely will go again.
Great gumbo...one of the best.
Great gumbo and service
I went with some family from back north and they all loved it; we tried the gumbo, shrimp pasta, gator, chicken imperial, spaghetti & meatballs. It was all amazing. The waitress was awesome, left her a hefty tip for being so cool and taking care of us.
The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Thanks!
this was the best gumbo i have ever bought in a resaurant in my life.i am a good cook and i would put it next to mine any day.ever thing else we ate was just as good.thank,it was a good treat.
Delicious mumbo gumbo! Lots of ingredients, including shrimp, sausage, okra and tomatoes and topped with fried shrimp. Great presentation too. Service was great, staff is friendly.
The seafood gumbo was very good.
It's a locals spot...small, with a bar and really friendly people. It doesn't look like much...but the food is excellent. Loved the shrimp scampi and gumbo. The fried chicken is fresh and cooked to order. My husband enjoyed it very much! They also had alligator and po boys.
the place looks dirty. it looks messy with the way things are not stored. the gumbo fell really short. the staff was slighly irritating with suggesting that you order appetizer and then dessert. would never ever go there again or recommend it.
crab cakes were as good as a 5 star restaurant and the shrimp mango salad was too
Wait was a bit long for the food, realizing though we were a large party of 7. The restaurant is busy with a small number of tables and two servers.
Had the BBQ shrimp Quesadilla appetizer. And the Mumbo Gumbo. Both were delicious. Will definitely go back.
Great service. Exellent food. We will definitely be back!
Excellent food in a small restaurant.
the food was delicious and filling, and the chef came out personally to check on us.
Our female waitress was excellent. The owner/chef came from the kitchen to make sure we were satisfied with the food. However, the male waiter who greeted us at the door was very rude because we sat at the table too soon. We waited for the table to be busted. But he seemed to think we should have waited for his permission. I am handicapped and cannot stand long.
chef ron and staff are very congenial!
Great tasty food.Great service.Chef Ron came to the table to talk with us.
The Gumbo was absolutely delicious...The best I ever had!!!
Love that I can eat there with a menu of Gluten Free Food!
Incredible gumbo and fried chicken. So crowded at lunch that you KNOW it's good. And it was, despite the wait of making every meal from scratch. Will be back for sure.
Best hole in the wall I've ever found
Ron's is a hidden gem! We found it through resturant.com and are so happy we did. Definitely going back ASAP
Great stuffed Mumbo Gumbo with fried catfish on top. It was a special
It was great food. We had shrimp creole, crawfish étouffée and Mac and cheese, bread pudding. Would very much recommend this place. It's just hole in the wall but don't let that scare you great food.
Chef Ron's gumbo and crab cakes are excellent. I ordered a large bowl of gumbo and enjoyed every taste.
Chef Ron is great
Food was delicious and chef Ron came to our table to greet us, nice experience
Great food and love that Chef Ron come to talk to you
Have visited a dozen or so times. Each time I order something different. I have enjoyed everything I have tried to date.
Everything is prepared to order and all products are fresh.
Best food I've had in NOLA. There should be a higher rating scale just for this place.
Excellent prepared food, very tasty and good service.
friendly efficient staff and good food.
Good food and great service. Thanks.
Jambalaya tasted like glue. Gumbo was excellent.
Best Gumbo in New Orleans
Food Was Really Good !
Best meal we had in New Orleans! Jefferson Chicken was out of this world, and Bronzed Drum Fish was excellent as well. Of course, we also had a cup of gumbo to share as an appetizer--there's a reason this place is known for its gumbo!!! Yum! All around fabulous place.
Chef Ron is excellent! Delicious food every time we go.
The food and service was great and we got a chance to talk with Chef Ron. We will probably return for a future visit when we are down south visiting my daughter.
Very warm and welcoming. Ron came out several times to chat with us.
BEST GUMBO
Excellent food and excellent service Owner went out of his way to greet me and will definetly return.
Restaurant was kind of dirty crackers and trash on the floor at lunch time????
It doesn't look that great from the outside but the inside is very nice and clean. The food is great and the gumbo very good.
Food was great and the staff including Chef Ron was wonderful in the way they interacted with the customers.
Chef Ron is always lovely. Once again he was mingling with the guests. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive.
Good service...Chef Ron even came out of the kitchen to chat and make sure everything was going well.
Excellent gumbo...seafood and chicken & sausage! And the best bread pudding we've ever had!
Good service...Chef Ron even came out of the kitchen to chat and make sure everything was going well.
Overpriced for the quality.
The food was excellent. Chef Ron came to each table to check on diners. It was great place and I will be back. Thank you Chef Ron and staff!
Boudin Balls were great. Also enjoyed the Gumbo!
Bre the server was sweet, and Chef Ron came out as we entered & as we finished the meal! Everything was fresh made. Delicious!
Nice staff, and the chef came around to ask about our meal.
gumbo was great- service was excellent!
Good food and service!
Excellent sesrvice, superb food. Friendly folks who know how to cook and make customers happy
The food was exceptional, fresh, perfectly seasoned, cooked perfectly and large portions. The deserts were to die for. Everything we ate was awesome!! On vacation in New Orleans and found on restaurant.com and researched reviews and will go back before going home even without a certificate!!
In a city known for seafood (which I grew up in), they have THE best marinated crab claws!!! Chef Ron always comes out and talks to us -- just a very pleasant experience.
We really enjoyed this restaurant. This was the first restaurant from the Restaurant.com list for New Orleans that had everything we wanted was available and on the menu. Ron the Chef was actually in the restaurant. That is rare!. The boudin balls were awesome and the Seafood Gumbo was the best in New Orleans. We tried many. Others were too watery. My kids have become professional Po Boy eaters. They agree that Ron's has the best shrimp Po Boy. We have eaten at some of the most famous ones on the tourist path. They do not compare. Shout OUT to Ron for going things the right way. The boudin balls are a must have.... Do not go without trying them.
Ron was in the restaurant. He came out and greeted us. He even offered us samples of his Gumbo. That does not happen often. It is a nice touch. After tasting several others, I wished I came to Ron's first for the Seafood Gumbo. Even my kids liked his shrimp Po'Boy better as well.
Great food, friendly staff, great service.
The food was excellent.
Chef Ron took it upon himself to welcome us and upon request told us about the specials. He is very approachable and makes the dining experience a very nice one.
Nice selection for this small place. Pleasant staff and good food.
A lot of food (Gumbo)Delicious.Took home a fish dinner to eat this evening. Can't wait to taste it.
Fried oysters were prepared very lightly. Gumbo always good!
The waitress was very pleasant and helpful.
A bit slow, but it is Mardi Gras so there were a number of out of towers there. Food was good but far too little sausage, okra and chicken in a large order of gumbo. It was very tasty but with so little meat I'd pass on it next time I am looking for a place to go. Being diabetic we need the protein.
great gumbo, roast beef po-boy was good dissapointed that poboys are on pistolettes instead of french bread loaf style bread
Friendly service, outstanding food, amazing gumbo... we love this place and will DEFINITELY be back.
Great family atmosphere. The food was great.
The gumbo was AMAZING, and the Bayou Scampi was also excellent. Fresh, hot bread, delicious bread pudding, and extremely friendly service. We'll definitely be back.
Very good seafood gumbo and boudin balls.
Very pricy...2 people total bill $52.00 with no dessert and only one soft drink purchased.
Cute little location, easy to miss if not from the area
The gumbo was greatm but the sandwich was soggy. The bread should be toasted and maybe even served a short time after the gumbo/soup. Chef/owner very plesant and likeable.
too pricey and too much food. food was good, but $13 for meatballs and spaghetti for lunch was too much. I couldn't finish the lunch and I usually do. the gumbo was good but priced like a finer restaurant.
Food was excellent
The food and service was excellent. We will certainly make this a regular family dining place!
I didn't like that you couldn't use 2 certificates at the same time. Service was slow and entrees did not come out at the same time.
