The waitress was very attentive and very sweet! I wish I remembered her name! She was excellent. It was the cook we had issues with. When we asked for jalapeños to be added to something, because my husband likes things hot, we were told that they don’t serve those because they are grown in Mexico and this isn’t a Mexican restaurant. Okay, this was our first time dining in a Latin fusion restaurant and we didn’t realize that. It could have been explained a bit more tactfully. The ridiculous irony is that there was a bottle of Valentino hot sauce on the table that claims to be a Mexican hot sauce right on the bottle. The food was a very bland and meat portion was very small. Almost all rice and beans, which whatever, I could except that, even if the meal was $14 for each. It was when we went to pay and our waitress had left that we had an interaction with the cook (perhaps owner?). We had shown the server we had a restaurant.com gift card at the beginning. She told me to confirm it in front of her and we did and then it is void. So when we went to pay the cook hadn’t added the discount, which we mentioned. He immediately became very rude, and wanted to see it. So I tried to pull it up again but it wasn’t there because it had already been validated. He was so nasty about it. I was like okay, let me look for it in my used certificates. It was listed but in small numbers. He then lectured me on how I was to show it at time of payment. I told him I was just doing what the server told him. He told me it was clear I had used these certificates before and I should have known this! At this point I told him he was being very rude and he was all like, I’m just saying for the future all the why implying I was the idiot although I was just following the servers instructions. The thing is he had been told by the server we were using this certificate and he was going to honor it until we questioned the bill. Which wasn’t itemized, it just said a total. In the end, we will not be going back not because the service or food was bad
